Linda Zibell

Dr. Linda Zibell is an Honorary Research Fellow with the School of Education at Federation University Australia. Over an extensive teaching career she taught students from 2 to 62 in early childhood, elementary and Adult Education before joining FedUni to become a Humanities curriculum specialist. Her PhD research (2016) Teacher Pedagogies of Dialogic Imagination, invited teachers across different levels and disciplines to share understandings of imagination as a pedagogy for cognition. Its theoretical framework stems from European philosophers of imagination: M.M. Bakhtin, Paul Ricoeur and Jens Brockmeier. Over decades Linda has advocated for and embodied active citizenship and environmental care: in her life, university and community – from local, place-based teaching to global education. She worked sessionally with the Global Education Project, a federal government initiative for teacher education over 5 years, and contributed to Australian Curriculum consultations in sustainability and environmental education.
